How to burn a candle (well)

Do you know if you are using your candles well? Do you think they last a short time? Does the glassblacken right away? Is the wick crooked? To ensure the quality, safety and reliabilityof your scented candles, and, above all, to get the most out of them, here are some tips on how to burn well and have a diptyquecandle last diptyque.

Although these recommendations are based on our signature diptyquesails, they are suitable for any other type or brand.

Here they go!

• The first time you use your candle, leave it burning for several hours at a timeor, at least, until the top layer of wax is completely liquid. This will prevent craters from forming around the wick.
  
  
• Cut the wick regularly with the wick trimmer of diptyque to avoid smoking or overheating the candle glass. We recommend a length of between 3 and 5 mm.
  
  
• Every time you extinguish your candle, use, preferably, the candle snuffer or the cover of diptyque to prevent the liquid wax from spilling out.
  
  
• The candle will burn evenly if you make sure, once you extinguish it, to leave the wick straight and centered (do this while hot to avoid splitting the wick. You can help yourself with the crop cutter).
  
  
• Never leave your candle unattended.
  
  
• Never place your burning candle near a draft or on a glass, wood or marble surface without a base.
  
  
• Never move your lit or freshly extinguished candle, as the liquid wax may spill.
  
  
• And, in general, always keep in mind the Precautions that appear on the box of your candle.
