Fragrance Inspiration Inside the bottle of the Eau de Parfum Philosykos by diptyque is the memory of a summer on Mount Pelion, in Greece. To reach the sea, Yves Coueslant and Desmond Knox-Leet, two of the founders of diptyque, had to walk through a wild fig orchard. The sun warmed the earth so much that the air picked up the scent released by the fig trees and their fruits. In love with that aroma, and with Greece, Coueslant and Knox-Leet asked the perfumer Olivia Giacobetti to turn it into a fragrance.In Greek, Philosykos means the friend of the fig tree, the tree whose leaves and dried branches, stored in a memory box, were the inspiration to create this fragrance.
