Christmas 1961. The Diptyqueshop had recently opened its doors at 34, boulevard Saint Germain. For the holiday season, the founders decided to decorate the store windows with traditional Christmas lanterns. Passersby and journalists called to buy them, but they were not for sale! A decision was made that changed the fortunes of the store forever: in addition to fabrics, the trio would sell decorative and scented items chosen from around the world or made by themselves.

The keenness of an eye to detect beauty in everything, the ability to select objects and scents that trigger visual and olfactory emotions.... The freedom to follow intuition to create a singular universe, without worrying about trends... This curiosity is the greatest treasure of diptyque.
